LGBTQ+ Youth and Homelessness Webinar
February 18, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Columbus Coalition for the Homeless is pleased to offer an educational webinar about Homelessness and LGBTQ+ Youth. The 90-minute program will provide an overview of the issue, discuss challenges that contribute to homelessness for youth who identify as LGBTQ+, and identify system barriers that make it harder for youth to find housing and support in the community.
The program will also provide recommendations for improving youth-serving systems and supports to help prevent homelessness. The program is available at no cost to participants. CEU’s will be available for counselors and social workers. The Coalition is grateful for technical support from COHHIO and Gahanna Community Congregational Church. Kaleidoscope Youth Center and Star House in Columbus provide professional expertise and assistance with selecting youth for the panel.
Learning Objectives
1. Identify strengths and risk factors that contribute to homelessness for LGBTQ+ youth.
2. Identify real-world situations experienced by LGBTIQ+ youth with lived experience of homelessness.
3. Increase understanding of gaps and needs in youth-serving systems and homeless service systems for youth.
4. Increase understanding of how to promote equity and inclusion with individuals, families, communities, and systems of care.
