Get the family together to make these quick and fun crafts!
January 8th @ 1:00PM ET: Paper Plate Puppets: Little Red Hen – Join us to make a Little Red Hen paper plate puppet and for a reading of The Little Red Hen by Jerry Pinkney. Kits will be available at Langston Hughes after January 4th. Otherwise, materials needed are paper plate, red tissue paper, construction paper, paint stick, scissors, markers, and glue.
January 15th @ 1:00PM ET: New Year’s Desk Calendar – Start the new year with your very own cute 2022 desk calendar! Materials: Colored paper, markers, ruler, pencil, glue.
January 22nd @ 1:00PM ET: Paper Plate Puppets: Three Billy Goats Gruff – Come and make a Billy Goat paper plate puppet and enjoy a reading of The Three Billy Goats Gruff: The Full Story by Richard Johnson & Katherine Tillotson. Kits will be available at Langston Hughes after January 17th. Otherwise, materials needed are brown paint or crayon, wiggly eyes, paper plate, paint stick, black construction paper, scissors, glue, paint brush.
January 29th @ 1:00PM ET: DIY Puzzle Game – For National Puzzle Day, let’s make a puzzle game from scratch! Materials: Cardboard, colored paper, utility knife or scissors, glue, markers.
February 5th @ 1:00pm ET: What is that I dreamed of? – Story and craft of the endangered solenodon (relative of moles and shrews), endemic to the Dominican Republic . Materials needed: TBD.
