“Where Are the Workers?”: Northeast Ohio Employer Roundtable Discussions

Introduction:

Team NEO, in partnership with the Fund for Our Economic Future, ConxusNEO and other partners across Northeast Ohio, is holding a series of employer roundtables across the region to engage in conversations with business leaders about their hiring and talent retention challenges, how they are responding to the evolving talent landscape, and what they’ve tried or are considering trying to be more competitive in attracting jobseekers.

These roundtables are one component of a multi-part analysis to understand, “Where Are the Workers?” Other components include a scan of existing national research, which served as the foundation for questions we are digging into deeper on the local level to better understand and address the talent shortage, and a recently completed regional survey of employers that is informing the roundtable discussions. The group leading the analysis is also surveying and conducting focus groups with working-age adults across the region.
