BWHI Leads Critical Conversations on Health and Justice
Congressional Black Caucus Week in Washington, DC, began with BWHI proudly hosting our Elevating Black Women’s Power and Impact panel series curated by Dr. Zsanai Epps, our Senior Director of Reproductive Justice Initiatives! The panel series was moderated by notable personalities Reecie Colbert and Dr. Wendy Osefo, featuring Black women leading programming, policy, and civic engagement at the local, state, and national levels. The panels provided a platform for vibrant discussions on health, justice, and leadership, affirming our commitment to amplifying Black women’s voices during this critical election year. We also debuted hard copies of our Black Women Health Policy Voters Guide.
BWHI Joins White House Briefing to Mark 30 Years of the Violence Against Women Act
The Black Women’s Health Imperative was honored to participate in the Violence Against Women Briefing at the White House, as well as the 30th Anniversary celebration of the Violence Against Women Act on September 12th. Our Senior Director of Reproductive Justice Initiatives, Dr. Zsanai Epps, represented BWHI among survivors, advocates, and community members who are committed to protecting and supporting women by working to end sexual and gender-based violence.
