Movements are purposeful, organized groups striving to work toward a common goal. BWHM’s goal:

HEALTHIER BODY AND MIND

WOMEN MOVING TOGETHER

THE FOUR PILLARS OF THE BWHM

Physical Health

Physical health is critical for overall well-being. Our physical health can be affected by diet/nutrition, physical activity and behaviors. This pillar of the BWHM focuses on living with and practical prevention of chronic diseases, and developing practical eating and physical activities for YOU.

Being mindful means paying close attention
to you … your mind,
body and soul. It means being aware of what is happening inside your mind and body in the moment, understanding your emotions and practicing self-regulation.

Economic Health

For some, the idea of achieving personal economic health seems far-fetched. An alternative perspective is becoming economically healthier. BWHM is collaborating with experts to provide access to the financial education many Black families are not privy to.

Community Health

Community health refers to the collective, holistic health of the defined group of people. BWHM is focusing on elevating and supporting actions that protect and improve the community health of African African women and their families.

OUR WORK TO DATE

We’re helping to engage, empower and advocate women to make meaningful change.

TOGETHER.
