Health Gap CEO Named YWCA Racial Justice Honoree
The Greater Cincinnati YWCA just announced Renee Mahaffey Harris, President/CEO of Closing the Health Gap, as a 2021 YWCA Racial Justice Honoree. She is recognized for her commitment to advocating for marginalized populations, using advocacy, education, and community outreach to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities in our region. Those efforts include:
- Jointly implementing Cincinnati Health in All Policy
- Launching Black Women’s Health Movement
- Serving as a Member of Mike DeWine’s COVID-19 Minority Strike Force
- Serving as President of the Ohio African American Health Disparities Coalition
Renee will be recognized along with Pastor Ennis Tate, Senior Pastor and Founder of New Beginnings Church of the Living God, at the YWCA Virtual Racial Justice Breakfast on October 13 from 8-9:30 a.m. This year’s event features Richard Rothstein — author of The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America.
